And The Perfect Rainy Weekend Continues.....

Went over to a friend's place this morning for a nice mug of strong coffee and a couple of hours of visiting and watching the rain fall through the windows that look out onto the balcony. Perfect rainy Saturday morning...

Showed her my pictures from my trip out to the Northwest, since it was the first time we'd gotten together since my vacation to catch up on life.

It was raining harder when I left to drive home, so I stopped by Blockbuster and returned my movie from last night and rented three (yes, three!) more movies to watch the rest of this wonderful rainy weekend.

Ran into the store and bought ingredients for chili - ground chicken, organic chili and black beans, tomato sauce and crushed tomatos, chili pepper, garlic, and a sweet purple onion from Italy. Brought it home and simmered it all in a big pot with some sugar and chili seasoning....mmmm, perfection. Ladeled some into a bowl, melted some sharp cheddar, crushed some Doritos on top and added a dallop of sour cream. It went perfect with the football game!

Iowa crushed Iowa State today....woohoo! The cooler weather totally made it feel like fall and football weather. After the game, I put in one of the movies and curled up on the couch with my dog and a soft fuzzy blanket to watch. Taking a break before I put in the next movie while the rain continues to fall without interruption outside my windows. I am totally enjoying this rainy cooler weather....

Back to my movie marathon...I hope wherever you may be, you are enjoying your weekend as much as I am.

Later....

Since a week can have up and down parts, it is good to reflect at the end of the week and just post about your five favorite things from your week. It’s designed to help you intentionally focus on the hand of God bringing blessings in our lives above all else. That’s what Friday’s Fave Five is all about. 1. My niece’s 19th birthday . A birthday dinner and party for my niece was a nice break in the week on Wednesday evening with good family time and cause for celebration. I found a beautiful flower arrangement on a local florist site and had them delivered to surprise my niece on her birthday. The flowers were even more stunning than they were on the website, which is not always the case. I also gave her a gift card to her favorite cafe that serves boba tea and sushi she was excited about.  2. An afternoon at the arcade . I had a very unusual afternoon in the middle ...
